The following is a collection of my greatest work and current projects.
I've had the great privilege to film from a variety of aerial platforms including: UAVs, Beechcraft Bonanza, and Robinson R44 Helicopters. With this experience, I have a greater understanding of aerial filmmaking and respect for the aviation community.
I have a Part 107 UAV license and currently working on my Private Pilot's license.
In June of 2018, I spent three weeks in Cuba on a school service trip. I also took many photos and video that later turned into a Scholastic Gold Key and National Silver Medal winning documentary.
Currently in production on a documentary following the life of US National Team Gymnast Shane Wiskus. Projected release date is Fall 2020. Updates can be found on Instagram @shanewiskusfilm.
In High School, I shot photos and video for my school newspaper, The Spectrum. This allowed me to shoot in venues such as US Bank Stadium and the Xcel Energy Center. In 2016, one photo published in the newspaper was submitted to the Minnesota High School Press Association and received a Gold Medallion Award.
During the 2018-2019 season, I was the University of Minnesota Men’s Gymnastics Team Filmmaker. This position included filming and editing a Pre-Season Promo Video, filming and uploading each routine, and creating highlight videos at all the competitions. I also assisted in editing for Gopher Digital Productions and the College Gymnastics Association.
Creating emotionally motivated films has always fascinated me. Wedding films allow any viewer to become immersioned in the emotions and aesthetic beauty of the day thus allowing it to live on forever. An example of my work can be found here.
I have experience shooting senior photos, family portraits, and corporate headshots.
Filmmaking Independent Study
During the second semester of my Senior Year, I participated in an independent filmmaking study after taking all previous filmmaking courses. A blog of my work during this time can be found here.
